The other day I walked into my kids bathroom and I noticed they didn’t have any toilet paper. I shook my head and thought, “Really?” My kids will look over a lot, knowing that mom or dad will do it, but toilet paper is not usually one of those things. All of us may want to overlook replacing the roll of toilet paper, but we can’t, because it’s a necessity.
As 2020 comes to an end, perhaps it’s only fitting that we make the correlation between a new year and a new roll of toilet paper. Sometimes, getting a new role is a nuisance. It’s not convenient, its not easy, and it’s simpler to overlook—but its a necessity, so we make the effort and get it done. The same is true with what we want to be different in 2021! It likely won’t be easy or convenient, but isn’t it important? Isn’t it a necessity for you and your self-worth, and your confidence? I believe it is.
Toilet paper was a big deal in 2020, and I want it to be a big deal for us in 2021, too. I want it to constantly remind us that there is something we have wanted for a while now. We haven’t made it a priority or a necessity, but we should have. We should have put us first, but we rarely do. Why do we do this? And it may not be easy to get this thing done, but it’s time. I’m not sure how many rolls of toilet paper your house goes through, but when you see the empty cardboard roll, I hope it will remind you to ask yourself, “Am I any closer to that dream?” This dream may not have seemed like a necessity, but I assure you, it is. 2021 is the year we make it happen. Let’s GO! It’s time! WE GOT THIS!
Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year!
