Recently, I was driving north on Interstate 95, returning home from visiting two of my daughters. When I reached the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, I knew something wasn’t right. This tunnel usually has two lanes headed south and two headed north, but today the north-bound tunnel was closed. All traffic was being funneled into the south-bound tube.

As I entered the tunnel, my radio was overtaken by the Maryland Transit Administration instructing me to stay in my lane, no passing was allowed. This message was broadcasted repeatedly until I exited the tunnel. Although this invasion by the Maryland Transit Administration felt a bit surreal, it was also kind of cool.

How great would it be if we had an emergency broadcast system for our life? Especially one that repeated itself. Imagine hearing “Change jobs – you’re unhappy” over and over again. Or “Stop worrying – try grateful instead”. Or “Make your health a priority.” What would your emergency broadcast system be saying to you right now? Whatever it is saying is really important. We should really listen up!

With Gratitude,
Beth
