Doug and I were talking about the pandemic over the weekend and how it will continue to impact the economy. I heard him say something he has said before, which is, “The Fed has essentially painted themselves into a corner.” Ah, what a visual! You don’t even need to understand economics or know what the Federal Reserve actually does to comprehend that statement. Painting yourself into a corner is never a good thing. It doesn’t give you many options, if any at all.

I’m not really worried about The Federal Reserve, but I am worried about us. Do you feel like maybe you have painted yourself into a corner? I believe we all do from time to time. It’s not necessarily irreversible, but it definitely puts us in a little bit of a pickle. Is your “corner” work? or a relationship? or maybe just life? Where do you feel like you have left yourself no means of escape or room to maneuver?

Today, decide what that “corner” is in your life. Are you taken advantage of at work or at home? Where are things completely lopsided? Here is the truth about painting yourself into a corner: You can always walk on the wet paint! Yes, it’s messy. And yes, it doesn’t always make everyone happy, but sometimes you have to do just that! You have to do what is right for you! Being painted into a corner is not where anyone wants to be, but there’s nothing better than boldly walking across the room and out the door! Freedom! Let’s Go! We got this!

With Gratitude,
