How brave were you when you were 23 years old? I don’t mean that “stupid brave” we all had the capacity for in our early 20’s, I mean being truly to-the-core fearless and having the courage of our convictions. At the age of 23 would you have been brave enough to take on Nike from the grand stage of The New York Times? Who does that?

Meet Mary Cain, the young lady who has been described as the fastest girl in America—until she joined Nike. You can watch the 7-minute video to hear her whole story and I encourage you to do so. We don’t get to witness bravery like this very often, and certainly not from a 23-year-old! After this video was released, other athletes have come forward and corroborated her story and the alleged abuse.

Why am I sharing this story of Mary Cain? She stood up, not only for herself but, for others. She took a huge risk to do so. The damage had already been done. She can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube, but she can change things going forward. Where do you need to be brave? About what have you said, “Enough!” There is something in your life right now that you want changed. We need to hear your voice. If Mary Cain can stand up to Nike, I know you can stand up, too! It’s time.

With Gratitude,
Beth
